Forest Friends Watercolor Camp at The Dalles Art Center

Learn the basics of watercolor painting while building a forest full of friends! Join instructor Elizabeth Zimmerman for our first week of Summer Art Camp. Each day students will learn new watercolor skills, finishing with a Student Art Show on Friday, June 28th to show off all their new forest friends!

About the teacher:

Elizabeth Zimmerman is a watercolor teacher who travels and shares her love of watercolors. She has a special place in her heart for teaching youth because growing up as a rural homeschooled student, finding art classes was a challenge. Starting her journey of watercolors at age 16, she loves how watercolor has a personality and enjoys teaching what makes watercolors different than other art mediums.

Summer Art Camp runs Tuesday, June 25 - Friday, June 28 from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm.  Supplies and instruction are included in your fee.  Each camper will need to bring their own snacks, lunches and beverages.  Wear comfortable clothes that are ok to get messy in and comfortable shoes for walking. We walk to City Park - a 2 block walk.

Check out Elizabeth's YouTube channel "Watercolors Made Easy with Elizabeth Zimmerman" for painting tips for beginning watercolorists, plein air watercolor painting, sketchbook work, and finished watercolors, along with playing around with gouache.

If you aren't local, you can become an online student. There are classes focusing on watercolors and using your iPad with the Procreate app.

If you live within Oregon's Willamette Valley, there is a very good chance that there is an in person Watercolors Made Easy class near you!
